How does The Frederick School teach counselling theory?
A deeper stage of training, staying connected to practical skills whilst remaining in small learning groups.
The Certificate in Counselling Theory moves beyond practicing core counselling skills and begins exploring the main theoretical concepts and approaches that underpin the work. Theory isn't taught in isolation - you'll be encouraged to connect what you learn with skills practice, personal reflections and the developing therapeutic relationship.
The course is designed around discussion, experiential learning and meaningful participation, not simply sitting through lectures.
It is a substantial next stage for learners who have already completed their Level 2 or equivalent counselling skills training and want to continue developing towards practitioner-level study.
